Adding old sand from another tank..

I have some extra sand from a friend's tank that crashed. The tank was set up for about a year and he doesn't know why it crashed.

The sand is dry now. I was wondering if I would be able to use it in a tank or would it be "harmful" due to the crash.

It's about 20 pounds worth and figured I would ask before I decide to use it on another tank or pitch it. Thank you!

Give it a really good rinse and it should be good to go.

Thank you. This is for a 2nd tank and I didn't want to start out with a mess.

I'd bleach it personally, but at least rinse the heck out of it.
