I am hoping to establish/build a sump/refugium for my little reef set up. The new equipment would be installed in a walk-in pantry type closet behind the existing tank location. My hope is to remove some of the rapidly accumulating equipment (skimmer, heater, probes, powerheads etc.) from the tank and leave more room for the critters -- and at the same time, double (if not more) the amount of water in the system to increase dynamic stability. There are very few if any size limitations. My concerns are these:
I am hoping to build a larger display in the near future (12 mos.). So, would like to have the equipment sized to accomodate the larger tank..... understanding of course that there may some amount of over-kill for the time being.
Where do i get one of these fantastic - all in one, all of the problems worked out, everything is in the right place, plenty of room for adjustment, can fit whatever equipment i might ever dream up/need sump refugiums??? I have deduced that there are some on this board who design and build them???
Sizing and picking a chiller that would fit the bill for both applications -- as it will be hot down her soon!!
The existing tank is very healthy:
temp 78 - 81
salinity 1.025
pH 8.2 - ish
po4 0 - barely detectable
nitrate 0 - ish
calcium 410
dKH 10.2
add 10ml ea of b ionic daily
10% water changes weekly with r.o. (kent salt)
2 - 150w 14k hqi metal halides w/ led moon lights
remora skimmer
50 # beautiful rock
3 inches live sand
3 mj 1200 on controller
xenia (x2)
star polyp (x3)
leathers
various mushrooms
frog spawn
goniopora(ugh) happy now, but for how long -- impulse buy
lots of coralline algae
tons of inverts (trochus, hermits, cap snails, shrimp, mithrax etc.)

orchid dottyback
I would really enjoy the collaboration of those interested in assisting me with the design, layout and integration of the above concerns -- if only to live vicariously through my (our) efforts.... Yes, i am aware that there are numerous variables and blanks left unfilled from the lists above, but hey, that is why i am pleading for assistance.
