advice

I recently (Tuesday) placed an order which I was quite excited about.
Of the 7 items, 4 are backordered! The 4 items were the bulk
of my order and the only ones I cared about. The rest were just small secondary items I knew I
would be needing in the future. I even opted for overnight shipping in hopes of being able to get
the primary items up and running this weekend.
There is a lot to said about real time availability
on web based shopping sites.
Anything that states if an item is actually in stock, back ordered and ETA if known.
I have another order I need to make for equipment and don't really want to take
chances on having it back ordered like this order.
No, I haven't cancelled the order. I'll just ride it out for now.
Just some advice....

I had the same problem. The items I really wanted were back ordered and I got two small irrelevant items. The problem was that shipping was charged in full on the small items so cancelling the order was not cost effective.

I found that if you call and place your order they can provide real time inventory. Thats what I do for essential items since the last issue.

None of my items have shipped yet. Not even the in-stock items.
What good is overnight if items haven't been shipped 6 days later:) Maybe the backordered items are close to arriving.
I guess a phone call never hurts but kind of defeats the purpose of shopping online.
A lot of the online dry goods venders should model themselves after sites like "newegg".

Hello,

Thank you for your post, Our suppliers do a great job in keeping us fully stocked, but unfortunately stock does run out from time to time. An email is usually sent to you from our order-processing department notifying you of the backorder. We apologize if you did not receive that email or if that email was somehow not sent. If you have some sort of spam blocker on your email server, it will sometimes block these auto-generated emails. Please contact us via email if you like, at your earliest convenience with your order number so we can check the status of your backorder. Please keep in mind that you are not charged for backorders until the items are available to be shipped to you. You can contact us at customercare@marinedepot.com
