African Blue Xenia(Cespitularia sp.) Size/Growth

Does anybody know how big a stalk can grow or the usual growth pattern? Does the base just keep growing wider as the top grows taller? How does it reproduce new colonies? Any information would be great, there is not much info about this species on the net.

The largest I have seen the stalks (free standing) get is around 6" around before they split into 4 separate stalks. Others that are close to rock or sidewalls will split much sooner. Height will be around 12 to 18 inches (sort of depends on tank, water flow and room to stretch out). Normal reproduction is by fission

I have a decent sized little forest of these, Ill try to get some pictures. In recent days they have started metling.... no idea why.
