AGA megaflow kit

for the AGA megaflow kits, the bulkheads look like they have the barbed end for flexible tubing. Is there a way to use rigid PVC with these bulkheads or do i just need to buy new bulkheads?

Or should I just use all flexible tubing for my drain and return?

Whats the advantages/diadvantages for flexible vs. rigid ?

yes you can glue pvc into those bulkheads. i had to for my tank.

I managed to use rigid PVC on the large one (for the drains) but had no luck on any fittings for the small ones (returns). This is the only place where I used flex tubing and I'm not happy about it either!! Given, I only used about six inches of flex hose, but I wanted to use none.

My rigid is much neater and more quiet than the flex tubing I originally had. I did the flex in case I needed to change things around. I'm actually glad I did this first, because when I finally got around to doing the PVC, I turned the entire sump 180 degrees.

well i have an extra 3/4" bulkhead, maybe i'll just replace the return bulkhead. thanks.

The return bulkhead on my kit came with a threaded end.I just glued the pvc to the inside so I could use ridged piping.And I just used flex for the drain side since it only had to go a short way to my sump.
