aiptasia

My giant gold Deresa Clam has a aiptasia connected right at the hinge line at the sand. I guess that means I am not kalking it. I tried to look close enough and it appears it is attached right inside the shell line, so not taking it out and scrubbing it off. I kalk and kalk and kalk and still cannot reduce the number of aiptasia! I was wondering if I try a copperband if that will work on the clam as well?

I have used a Copperband before with some success. It can be a little risky though. Alot of Copperbands will not eat prepared foods, and will die after the aiptasias are gone. Most of the time the Aiptasia will come back after the CB is dead.

There is the chance that the CB will find your clam tasty also. It is rare but has been nknown to happen.

Aiptasia's really are a huge pest.
