Algae everywhere!

I recently changed out my refugium because ther wasn't much water flow between the two tanks. The tubing basically kept on plugging up. It was plugged-up for the entire spring break and, as a result, I now have copious amounts of algae. It's not really hair algae. It's more of a turf type algae, but it's red. I want to get rid of this ASAP! What tang, that's not shaped like a kole tang, will eat the most algae off of the rocks in the shottest amount of time? I am basically looking for something that lovesto eat algae regardless of supplemental feeding. I was thinking of a Naso. What do you guys think? I was also thinking of adding several emerald crabs as well. How many???? I have a lot of blueleg hermits, astrea sails, and lettuce nudibranchs, but they won't touch the stuff. Please, give me your opinions.
Thanks

I had the same stuff in my tank.
I don't believe any of the tangs will touch the stuff.
As for inverts, I think the bluelegs were the first to start and the snails followed in behind.

What type of red algae? Is it soft like a cotton ball? Or is it tough and bristly like a wire brush?

If it's the cotton ball stuff then the best thing I've found are the large mexican turbo's. They really plowed thru the stuff for me. You don't need very many of them either, I have two in my 125.

If it's the wiry stuff I don't know. I have a little of that it my 30 gal tank, but nothing seems to touch it. Fortunately, it doesnt' seem to be spreading, in fact, it seems to be receding. I'm guessing an urchin might eat it, but I doubt many fish would.

Yeah, it's the wiry stuff. Nothing does seem to want to eat it! It's starting to cover some zoos and it is spreading! As for the urchins, which ones and what are the risks of adding one to a reef aquarium. I know they a incredible algae eaters, but do they eat some coral or possible something else? Thanks for the info guys!

Sounds like it is time to cut back your feeding and lighting a bit until you can get control of your nutrients.
