algae id

Well, I don't have a digital camera so I will explain this algae best I can. It is green, grows straight up like a pine tree, and kinda resembles a fern. I doubt if it is a macroalgae, but I don't know a ton about algae so I thought would ask. What is this algae and should I remove it, or will the snails take care of it? (its not taking over or anything, yet)
