What do you guys think of those all in one nano reef ?

Since i am new to this and dont have much money to spend i was wondering if maybe to start and see if i can handle this getting a all in one nano cube might be a good idea ?

Maybe that would be easier to start since i dont have all the money and knowledge to buy everything ?

what do you think ?

People either like them or hate them...you should do a search because so much stuff will come up about them. They have some risk of cracking in the corners....but that being said, I am also a newbie, and for me the nanocube just took a lot of the guess work our of the pic cuz it was all right there. I did change out the pump and I added a light to the second chamber for chaeto, otherwise so far its stock...the life in it is healthy and pretty so in my opinion, I like my jbj nanocube.

I've haerad a lot of positives and a lot of negatives.... you may want to research them and it all depends on what you want to keep... Certain corals will need more flow and light causing you to have to upgrade the lighting and add powerheads.... The costs of the cube and upgrades may be pretty similar to mixing and matching.... so first decide what you want to keep, and simply do a ton of research :)

I'm helping a friend w/ his aquapod24
What a pain IMO
You're so limited on space and filtration choices.
More sensitive
I'd rather buy used and go a little bigger

I was looking into getting an aquapod 12g for my office. I cannot have anything big because I work in a school, so it will have to be either brought home or torn down (with livestock kept in a tank at home) during vacations. I am curious how well these work out.

I like my 12g AquaPod... but, I am having one hell of a time keeping temerature down. I removed the heater from it and still, way too hot.

This is my opinion but maybe because its what I did but any way here it is. I setup a nano using a 10gal. and it worked out great. I picked my own lighting and stuff. No need to upgrade lighting or powerheads when you just put what you are going to need in the first place. Ive heard alot about overheating lighting and filtration problems with both nano cubes and aquapods. I looked at both and was not impressed with eather in the lines of filtration and lighting because I wanted to be able to keep SPS corals. If you set up your own you might want to do what I do and use no filter. I only have powerheads for water movement. In place of a filter I do a 10% water change once a week. If you do this and use a good quality salt mix there is no need for supplements all your trace and calcium is raised by the water change. Allso 1lb of live rock and sand per gal. is all but manditory.
It will help out tremendously in the health of the tank.

Well, this morning I made it so that the flap that is on the 12g AquaPod's hood won't close anymore. Within an hour, I've seen the temp go down a little. So, I will keep it open for a while and see what it does.
