well its a 92 gal corner on a wet dry system, my nitrates are around 15ppm everything else is good. Cal 400 alk 11 dk
I switched lights 3 weeks ago plus add the torch thats when it started,, I went from 400watts of pc's to 456 watts of mh's and t-5 att8inics

No offense, but you went from one of the weakest lighting setups to one of the strongest, AND increased the wattage.

Unless you put your new setup at least 16" above the tank, I wouldn't be surprised at all if you have some major issues. It could cause anything from major bleaching, tissue recession, to pretty quick death.

That's like keeping you in indoor lighting most of your life, then throwing you out in the middle of the desert unprotected. ;)

I would raise your light some, shield the damage corals, etc. Another good question is, that is a MASSIVE amount of heat that you might be producing now. What was your temp range before the change, and what is it now? Your alk is a bit high for most people's taste, but if that's where your system has always been, it _might_ be ok. Your other possibility (although unlikely) is some sort of worm/bug from the new coral. Do you perform any dip/QT?

I had the light 24 inches above the tank for two weeks, the temp range stayed within normal ranges , if there are worms I do not see them, and I did dip the new torch

whats your mag mate? if its too low your ca and alk cant do thier thing, and sps/lps will evetually strip if they're starved of it, because it will lock out ca and alk, rendering them useless to your coral, your mg+ca+alk all need to be in balance at correct levels, hth:)

i'd bet that is has to do w/ the lighting and nothing else. i don't think two weeks is long enough to acclimate from pc to mh w/ t5's

you should take a few sheets of window screen and put them over your tank. take one sheet off every few days. if you dont properly cclimate the corals to the new light you run the risk of damage
