All you Lord & Micro cutters:

Fliger....

Yes IT IS IMPERATIVE that you place the corals back into the tank... LOL otherwise they will die. I guess that I should have added that in the fragging steps

hehe :)

Justin: nothing wrong with a lil fun, especially on a friday night!

Fliger: when you cut the top off the middle, does the colony fill it in? That sucks you lost the mother! Now I'm going to have nightmares about doing something like that LOL

Doc: you know I'm going to take you up on that promise, right?

Be sure to use a portable GFCI with any corded Dremel. Saltwater is highly conductive and the GFCI will save your life when things get damp.

Also, gloves, goggles and a dust mask are all required gear. I like to use the olde-tyme ketchup and mustard bottle from the 99cent store to lubricate cuts but the fish line sounds like a good way to get a constant stream...

Hi all, excellent info in here :)

Fliger, OUCH, bummer for you. At least you learned some thigns. It helps others to hear about these kind of mistakes as they sit in the back of your mind and pop out when you need them.

WendyMc, let us all know how it goes for you.

Alicia, I think the only thing people learned from my mistake is that I'm a moron. :)

Great info on this thread, thanks Jen/Charles, Doctor and everyone else!

Hey Moron (just kidding):D you never got back to me when your gonna be in so cal. You should come in Feb, when they have the reef farmers in ontario. I bet you'd love that!

Jen or Charles,

Do you use a Dremmel? I remember reading in your blog that you like a band saw. I was wondering if the Dremmel scroll saw accessory worked for fragging.

Doin the happy dance

Well I've had absolutely no tank time so I decided to put all my micros in an acrylic holder (got on ebay) so I could easily target feed them - and I found the rest of my Pink Floyd! :D :D It had gotten drug away by a serpent star and was hiding under some rocks. Here's an old pic of my baby - which should show why I was so bummed that I lost it!

That one to the right is Doc's Strawberry Milkshake, which is in my top three favorites. Its about 8 or 9 polyps right now, highly recommend it. :)

Gorgeous! Is the one in the middle the P Lem & on the left the P Floyd? Very Merry Christmas finding that baby - I would have cried if I lost it!!

Hey Wendy - that is "Independence Day". It has almost entirely bleached, I think I had it too close to the light. But its growing well so I'm sure the color will be back eventually. Its a really nice one also - another Doc specialty.

Yeah it was probably my best Christmas surprise - I never thought of it that way.

I've been looking for a frag of the pink lemons and pink floyd. Should I look under my rocks? Maybe xmas will come soon.....and I'll find someone selling some.
