Anemone growing out of control....

I purchased a hatian anemone about a month ago and has trippled in size (longest tentacle i estimate to be 6 1/2") and now I'm looking to get rid of it because I do not have the room for it anymore...

Its a light peach color and it has only claimed one spot in the tank since he was put in...which was not my intention, I was sorta hoping he'd attach to the glass someplace near the top of the tank.

Problem is everytime I try to pull him off of the rock which he's pretty much got his stem completely under and in he gets so small it's impossible to get him off. Getting rid of the rock is not an option... Anyone have any other ideas?

I want to trade my Anemone for something interesting/colorful
like a reef safe fish or coral...PM me if you are interested....

if u can take the rock out of the tank put it on a bench & with a chisel & a hammer tap around it's foot when they feel the vibration it lets go, thats how i used to get them off works every time good luck.

Put some ice in a sandwich bag and close it, and then submerge the icebag into your tank and rub it around the anemone's foot and it will release from the rock.

the chisel method is your best bet, or you can also use a sharp exacto knife or scalpel and cut at the rock under the foot so it doesn't split in the wrong spot. If you can get the rock under him off in one piece you can trying gluing it down where you want it to stay, although that is no guarantee that he won't move again.

good luck
