Anemone in Biocube overflow, HELP!!!

I went on vacation for a week and came back to find out that my condy anemonegot sucked into the bottom overflow of my biocume 14 and died. Half of my livestock died and everything is covered in algae. I am currently running an oversized skimmer on the tank but this does not seem to help. I did a 50 water change which seemed to help minorly. This happened once before, but it was a long time ago. How can I keep anemones out of the overflow?
Any help is appreciated!

Is there any way to block the overflow with some sort of mesh or I've seen people talk about needlepointing material cut to what you need. I'm not sure if that is an option because I'm not sure with exactly the overflo consists of but I know this is recommended for powerheads.....
