Hi Dr Ron
To say the least, I was fascinated, shocked and horrified at your findings.Thank you so much for doing this test.
I was wondering if instead of deicing your driveway with the IO(Instant Oblivion....I shouldn't have said that
), if there might not be a better use for it.
"so the larvae seen in the waters made from these two salts are the hardiest of the hardy survivors. "
Wouldn't using IO to hatch larvae be useful to "cull" out the weaker specimens and thereby keep the population of that particular species stronger?? I would think you would have to switch to the better salt mixes to raise the larvae, but for initial hatching use the IO.
I say this in the event that we ever get good at breeding these beautiful aquatic creatures that we love, we could weaken the population by overprotecting the weaker ones that might not be genetically fit. I realize this may sound harsh and cruel to some readers, but in nature "only the strong survive"
Any merit to my theory??
Thanks
Jim
