Another very happy osmolator customer, but.

Moving Out
I recently setup 2 osmolators on a couple of AGA tanks. They work so nice, I don't know why I ever waited so long. Maybe the price. But after checking out the price of optical sensors, I decided this system is pretty good buy.

Now for the mounting system. I'm sure you guys at Tunze can come up with something a little better. A heavier duty mounting screw would go a long way.

Thanks for the good ATO.

The screws are graphite reinforced nylon and should be pretty tough, most products include the longer anodized stainless steel screws as well, I can't remember if they come with osmolators or not. The trim on US tanks is what makes them tricky, in Europe on trimless frameless tanks they work like a charm, we have since had to adapt them to work on US tanks.

The screw maybe graphite reinforced nylon, but the slightest amount of torque and it bends. Good to know that it should not break.
As far as it fitting the AGA tanks. I found that removing the small lip at the top where the glass cover would rest helps alot.

Is there a way to mount these with a magnet, like the streams are mounted.

But then, that is an expensive mounting mechanism as well, unless you can DIY it.

Using the magnets is not recommended. I have found in certain positions things work OK but their is a high probability the magnetic field will affect the float switch causing an alarm. Their was a very small area above and between the magnets that the field did not affect the float.

FWIW, i'm using the magnet in my tank, but i've got the (sorry i always forget whats its called) kit with the overflow and pump for sitting in a display tank. this seems to work well except that it just 'sits in ' the magnet, it doesnt actually attach
