Any large colonies of Montipora danae? (ie, pokerstar, rainbow, sunset)

I've never seen a large colony of the M. danae.

Do they just conform to the shape of whatever they are encrusting, or do they ever branch up like cactus pavona does?

i always thought that they just conformed to the shape of what they were encrusting on.. but my mini colony of superman montipora danae has been growing a lot lately, and has little shoots of growth of the sides that aren't encrusting to anything?? Weird.

I have one of each but not pics.......like that helps.

My pokerstars started on a circle frag plug and have now covered a 10"x 12" rock and another smaller one I layed on there to move to another spot in a little over a year.

I just got a maricultured danae from Liveaquaria about the size of a baseball that is 2 weeks old and coloring up nicely.

Ive seen some sunset and pokerstar in a 4 year old tank, and both pretty much covered what they were on (rock). There were a few spots that they sort of 'plated' out, but they were very small areas where the rock had an odd shape or two.

So maybe I need to find some nice old plastic acro-looking coral decorations at yard sales and put some danae frags on them, and have a Montipora danae var. acropora lol...

I already have some cactus pavona that's about 1/5 of the way into encrusting a beer bottle that was taken from the wild with some live rock. It's literally about to take over the orange-eye zoanthid colony.
