Any one have good colors with 10000k !

I'm a 10k/VHO fanboy!

I'm going to be running 250W 10k EVC bulbs and 4 110W Super Actinics.

I am a fan of 400W 10K with VHO supplement. Awesome growth and colors are good but not like the ones you get with T5 that looks artificially fantastic. :D

i have that color combo with 2x 250w halides and 2x 110w super actinic UVL vho bulbs, and i would never change it to any other bulb / combination

I get great colors under 10K. Dont have any recent images but if the tank is right your colors will come no matter what the wavelength light you use. They will develop colors under Halides without supliments. If the water quality isnt great or they are subject to any stess at all they will tend to brown out. You will notice color changes sooner under 10 as well as you dont get the false color from the refelcted blue light. My last tank pictures were posted under 10 k lights (4 400 watt 10 K ) and a single 400 watt 20 K. Check the thread before flaming please.
Regards

Just a note though you will find that XM 10 K lights are extremly blue to be 10 K lights. I dont like the artificial look of xm's but they do work well and you will get good colors. You wont need the actinic with them though. If I was going to supliment XM lamps with VHO I would go with a whiter bulb than actinics. If you wish to use actinic suppliments then you might consider another brand of 10 K lamps for your halides. Understand though that the corals will develop good colors under any intense halide if your conditions are perfect. The light is not the biggest factor. I have kept copals in my sump with incandesent bulbs and seen good color. Right now I an keeping a frag in my sump under 9 wats of led just to see if it will keep color under those conditons . So far it has. Been about two weeks . In a couple of months we will see. I personally think that people who change bulbs to chase color are chasing their tail. Its all good though as they will usually sell me their old bulbs cheap.

I 100% disagree with Dog boy Dave. I have been using XM 10K since day 1, and I find it they are not even close to being blue. Using PFO ballasts, I find that they are crisp white at start, and they yellow out as they wear out.

i'm running 10k XM's on a bluewave 7 and they are white with a hint of yellow. definetly need blue supplement for my taste. i have heard however that 10k XM burn bluer on electronic ballasts but i can't speak from experience...

IT also depends what youre used to. Shifting from looking at my tank under 20k to 10k was PAINFUL. increased par and great growth but man...the water looked yellow. even with actinics. its all what you're used to. your corals will def grow faster with the 10ks

I am about to feel the pain. I have been using 20k for the last 4 months and have 10k bulbs on order. i wanted to get a burst in growth of my corals for a cycle of bulb life so I am going to try the 10k. Who knows I might like the white color.

I am fixing to do the same jjoos99. I have had these reeflux 20k 250 watt for 8 months now. I am doing 12k this time around though with vho super actinics. I just need some growth to fill my new frags in some.

Yes, this is a great combo

My old reef with 3x 250W XM 10K and 2x VHO actinic 110W. I used to have 2 x 400W XM 10K but changed to 3x 250W, spread best the light

Every single type of bulb...well under the sun...that I have burned on my bluewave 7 250 HQI's has burnt a tad bluer on my ARO electronics.
