Can anyone post pics of Maximas and croceas etc.. in the Ocean , from diving trips or whatever? I would like to see how they are in the rockwork or sand bed before we get them.

Most aquarium books will have some pics of wild clams. Derasa, squamosa and gigas clams tend to be found on the sandbed, where as crocea and maxima clams tend to be attached to rockwork in shallow areas.
Here are a few pictures I took last April during a dive in the Red Sea, a place called Shoiba located in Saudi Arabia. They were all over the place usually encrusted within the upper levels of the reef. Very rarely on the sandbed which was at around 18 feet.
