any saltwater applications for eco complete?

hey guys im getting rid of a 30 gal planted tank and everything in it is going to a good place (not the toilet) except for the substrate which is 2bags of eco complete and i was wondering if anyone has used this in a reef tank or anything else because i dont want it to jus sit in the garage and collect dust

I'd say that it would be a bad idea to put in a reef because it may contain certain minerals that can harm corals.

I have found it can be used as a substrate in marine planted tanks.. ie. seagrass. That is with limited testing though. For a typical reef, probably not useful and potentially helping to fuel algae (maybe......).
