any sw reefers in HI?

looked at a few boards and never seems to be any groups from Hawaii. wondering if they are also out there but never seem to get together. post if interested.

Thatd be sweet to live in Hawaii and have a reef tank, all those lovely fishies so close to you.

I have lived there most of my life and never got into it until I lived in Vancouver, WA. Then got going with a 100gal then moved back home to HI and starting all over again. My plan is to do a tank with only Hawaiian style stuff inside. so doing the planning phase and getting the water quality good and everything else. yes it will be nice to dive for my own stuff, I also I have friend that breeds Flame Angels, and several varieties of shrimp.

I haven't (yet) Just getting the tank I'm working on to a good base before I change it up. but I will be diving for my own stuff. hopefully sooner than later.

Damn.. i wish i lived in Hawaii. Maybe they need more security guards over there. :lol: Id be diving in ALL my spare time. And id get me a nice, 1000 Gal aquarium.

grab a bunch of frags from all over the world. and see what happens

Umm, that probably WOULDNT be too smart, introducing species from other parts of the world, people have done that with animals and bugs and stuff already, and bad things happen.

i think it is againist the law to take corals and fish at your own free will.

I think the law is that you have to have a fisshing licence or a permit.

It is against the law to harvest corals here in hawaii, and yes you need a license to harvest ornamental fish here
