any tips to get a clams foot to detach?

I have to take my clam and corals to a friends place tonight to look after for a month or so while i upgrade. My crocea's foot it firmly attached to a large rock and i need to get him off. Is there an easy way to get it off?
I'd just take the rock with me but its very large.
