I'm just wanting to see your pictures on a colony size. I have a 2" frag with just a tiny blue color but over all white. Could be bleached some but polyps are are out and I had it for only a few days. Under t5 about 8" from the top.

Did a google and could not find much. Just purple digitatas

Thanks

I have one that was brown from day one. I always wondered why it's called German Blue when it has always been brown! Ugliest thing in my tank...

I had a small 2 incher 6+ months back, I had to trim it twice now...probably 5x5 when i was fragging it. It really grows like a weed. The color is really bluish/purple in my tank...I will try to snap a pic later when I get home...

Here's mine when I first got it. The color has pretty much stayed like this, whiteish base with light blue polyps, I have it under a 14K ushio...and I agree, it does grow like a weed...

Nice one Dalston. I believe the blue digi that others are looking for is the same as the German blue digi. Most corals will have a different look on different tanks.

This is mine or at least it was sold to me as German Blue Digi...

It is a light whore, if you don't blast the light to it, it turns brown. Mine is directly under my 400w MH.

Mine is sort of brown with german blue polyps, it really isn't a nice coral, I got it for free and hid it on the back>

that one looks like a purple digitata not the german blue digitata but still a nice looking piece, both the purple/blue seems to demand alot of light to stay that color. I have a frag of it thats about 1" big and its a little shaded turned silver.

this is not my picture but the german blue digitata looks like this:

To everyone who is sporting a "brown digi", try applying more light. As imisky noted above, pretty much add as much as you can. At minimum put him at the top of your rocks, directly under a bulb.

I've had mine turn brown from bulbs being too old as well. Change your bulbs every 6-9 months in most cases!

Also FWIW, the "blue" in the Blue digitata has always been nearly impossible for me to photograph in any way that is remotely representative of "in person". See the attachment for the best photo (in terms of the blue) that I've managed to get.

P.S. My avatar is a photo of my blue digi (~1 year ago) with a flash on the camera, FWIW.
