Anybody ever run ParaGuard and PraziPro together?

Just curious...

I know Cupramine and PraziPro can be run together, wondering if you can as well with PraziPro.

I know both companies will say not to, but wanted to here some real world feedback.

Thanks :hmm5:

Nuxx,

I run Paraguard and parazi in my QT process. I do it for 6 weeks and have done it for the last 4 additions.

I read some where about the idea. I have not tried to cure a fish with both. I really would like to know how successful it would be since it is not as potent.

I almost tried it one time to save a powder blue from petco but fish died the next day at store.

Thanks

Yeah just wondering if both could be run together...

Somebody must have tried! :)

Well I will admit when I first tried it was with a pair of clownfish and I started with very low dose and increased dose weekly until I got to the recommend levels for my 29g qt. If you use it for curing please let keep us posted.

Just nervous to try both :(

Triggers are in on QT, not really wanting to chance anything.

Anthias and Wrasses in the other two QTs, I know they're sensitive, so nervous with them as well.

Wish I had some cheaper hardy fish to try it on...

Nuxx, sorry i didn't write it more detailed. But I do run both together as my Qt. It has worked on my Naso, aThais, and clowns.

Before I saw your reply I tried it with my Triggers.

Was treating with ParaGuard as a catch all and noticed the female Crosshatch's eye had clouded over. Dosed a half dose of PraziPro and the eye was cleared up the next day. When it started clearing up I noticed a fluke...

Going to try a slightly stronger second dose in a few days. 5-6 days after the first treatment.

Nuxx,

I was happy using both at the same time as it was notable difference in stress and monitoring than using cooper.

Z

I have 3 QT tanks running right now.

The 1st Tank (Lineatus, 5 Anthias) did 3 rounds of Prazi, then ParaGuard. They will end up being in QT for 9 weeks.

I only had 6 weeks for this second group of QT (2nd Tank - Crosshatches / 3rd Tank - Flame Wrasses) and also wanted a week to watch them in the display before our trip.

So I was a little stuck... 2-3 rounds of Prazi burns a lot of time. Then raising copper up slowly also burns a lot of time.

Running ParaGuard for a full 30 days didn't leave much time to run Prazi either. Being able to run them together gives me 4 weeks to basically treat for anything. Then a week to watch them before the display, and a week to watch them in the display.

Just ran a full dose of PraziPro in two quarantine tanks being treated with ParaGuard and everyone seems fine.

Tank 1: Pair of Crosshatch Triggers
Tank 2: Pair of Flame Wrasses

I just tried it. Everyone says it's fine. I think it's just Hikari that doesn't want people catching on to the fact lol. They would much rather you buy ichX. What does anyone think about feeding food medicated with sachem metro while using this concoction?

Just a reminder: Medicating fish is stressful to the fish. But we hope that the medication is a better stress than the disease. The more medications, the more stress there is on the fish.

I think copper tends to be the only real stressing medication. There's so many less stressful & more advanced medications out there. I have medicated tangs before with non copper medication, zero sings of stress & I medicated for a month.
