Anybody local with an H&S skimmer?

Just curious.

I am thinking of jumping in all the way and getting a A200-2x1260.

The only one I know if is Asnatlas. Fill me in man. I know compared to the BK, the H&S is just a skilter, right?

 Just a "skilter"!
Say it aint so Shawn! :D

I wish H&S would of made the chamber bigger on the 2x1260 than the singel 1260. I like how the Deltec dual 1260 increase chamber dia to a 250 but It Looks like the acrylic is nicer on the H&S's.

I've got the baby AP600 if you were interested in seeing a Deltec...

AcroSteve, I did pick up an A200-1260 to replace a broken crappy skimmer that I had on my 92gal... So far it's doing great... I can't compare it to my BK400 as it's not even seen water yet, very soon...

I love the wedge pipe, very easy to adjust...

H&S is not a Skilter, I can tell you that LOL

Shawn,
Just trying to help out...
but if you want to introduce that BK400 to water I would offer my tank for break in service. :)
(just being the nice guy that I am.)

Yea, I am a little dissapointed that the chamber is not as big as the Deltec. But the reputation of the skimmer performance shows that it is not really required. I hear it is a stellar performer. I appreciate the sweet build quality too.

It is my understanding that the collection cup riser is wider on the 2x1260 than the single pump model. So this, in addition to some additional height allow the skimmer to handle 2x the amount of air.

Treg, The Deltec 702 is the one I am comparing the 2x1260 to. The chamber is bigger around, but shorter. It is rated for 20 gal less than the H&S. Really not that much of a difference there, but the Deltec takes up more room at 19"x19", and I don't have the room to spare.

I am one of the ones that thinks the Deltec's look a little cheap with the thin black pvc. At least on a high end skimmer, it does to me. Heck, the only time I ever saw a big Deltec like this in person was at the Cinci swap 2 years ago. I think it was the 703. Shure it was nice, but it didn't look like $3200 at the time.

And Shawn, if you have the A200-1260 on your 92, I have to have the A200-2x1260 for my 180, so I am not out of line at all.

Shawn, did you put your air flow meter on the H&S yet? If so, did you hold the meter vertical? I'm having a hard time believing the they are getting 16 lpm from those pumps, but I could definitely be wrong.

Yea, fill me in too so I don't have to buy the meter.

Shawn, are you feeding yours from the overflow or what?

I was thought long and hard about setting it up on my 92gal...

I dont care if it was a 10g sea horse tank, Man If it was mine it would already be set up!! :D :p
Anyway, its a standing offer incase you change your mind.

Steve the 902 is the one I'm dreaming about. I like the looks of the H&S acrylic a lot more but the Deltec acrylic dosnt really bother me all that much... I dont mind the ABS at all, I actually like the black color. Silly reason to buy a skimmer tho... It looks cheap but yet it dosnt, hard to explain... Cast is NICE to look at but I suppose they all do the same thing...
I really want a taller skimmer so between the big 3 it leaves me leaning towards the 902 and As soon as I get my basement sump going I will have PLENTY of equipment room.
If you ever think you want to see a Deltec in person, just let me know The 600 I have now is small but pretty much built just like its bigger siblings.

To be honest, after the Deltec price increase, I'm looking at the BK's more and more myself. I just wish they made a taller unit.
An internal 250 isnt that far off the price of an AP902. Both 10" and around 1,500 LPH of air... Deltec just has the height.

Maybe Doug will do us a group buy on a 702 and 902 ? :D

Steve you probably already know but if you want a good opinion send Fliger a PM, he has owned a 2x1260, 3x1260 and now a custom single 1260. He's also had a BK300 and an AP702 w/ SCH.

Good God thats a lot of money.

I have read most of his posts here and some other places. I figure if a guy has had all those skimmers, he aught to know a thing or two about them. The 2x1260 seems to be his favorite.
