I purchased a Gen-X PCX70HP from a Slash member last year and it has served me well for a year on my basement sump setup. Im not going to try to describe my system but Im making some changes and had a couple of goals in the process for my pump:

1. Lower wattage
2. Noise/vibration decrease
3. Have a spare pump

The two pumps on my radar are:

Panworld 150PS
Reeflo Swordtail

Does anyone have any suggestions, advice, or a pump for sale?

I put my panworld on a 1" styrofoam insulation and run a little less than 3/4 open with a ball valve little heat people won't believe me but no noise

It's a 100px-x don't know what you want for flow max is 1270gph. But ball valve reduction =less heat and flow

By running at 3/4 throttle will it consume less watrage?

Yes a simple solution that I learned this summer.

My pump was almost too hot to touch backed it down it cooled off quickly. Any speed less than full will see a reduction in heat. I would suggest getting bigger than you need back it down and if you upgrade later ie: any new reconciliation devices in Sump or bigger tank you will have pump already. Mine is a 100px-x it runs a 220 reef 1260gph.
