I received one a while back as a present. Since then it's faded out a bit. I can't seem to find the ideal spot for it. I had it up high and it started to recover, then recede again. Tried it low, no change. I know favias cover the range of high to low light. It's under 4 - 95w VHOs. All other faviids in the tank are doing great. Ca, Alk, & pH remain consistent. Any ideas from other owners? Pretty much all that's left is the mouths and some of the green edge. The exposed skeleton has grown over with coralline.

I'd say give it low light and feeding for a while until it recovers, it would take a little while, but should come back nicely

what about the exposed skeleton that has algae on it?. I had a brain coral ( Lobophyllia ) that suffered a hyposalinity accident and receded a bit, now it has coralline growing on the exposed skeleton and wont grow tissue over it.

my green and red brain is doing very nicely about 3" below the top of the water and under a 70w halide. It handled 2-175's before that pretty well, so I think it can handle high light if brought up slowly. I'd lower it for a while to bring back the colors though.
