i am considering the glass-holes dart overflow for my 350

wanted peoples opinions likes/dislikes?

also how do you return the water..bulkhead on back wall? how do you break siphon as that will below water line??

the return pipe will have to go over the back wall. unless you want to drill a hole for return piping. i would just go over the back. it gives you more flexability and the ability to move it down the road.

as for the overflow, i have looked at it, and it is really loud on the videos. plus i really dont like the design. thats not to say it wont work.

where is the tank going? if in the living room, the it will be loud. if you have a fishroom behind the tank, it might not be as big of a deal.

give us some more information.

tank will be in family room..next to couch so we need it quiet...no fish room..sump under tank...

i would like to keep the tank relatively close to the wall it is against as you sit at one end of it...

pump i am planning is reeflo super dart

any recommendations? i have to let the tank builder know...

at this point i dont want to do external overflow due to tight to wall..

traditional overflow/durso or gl*******s style up high or other??

any feedback would be appreciated

i need to stick with internal overflow box...due to rear wall...

i can do internal overflow bean style out the back...

how big of an internal overflow box will i need to handle 3000 gallons flow...?

also what size lines/bulkheads?

I purchased one, but never hook it up. It looksl ike it would work. that said, they have added a new baffle to it that should completely eliminate the sound. the water is now forced to flow underneath to where the drains are located.

Im selling mine for what I bought it for. $150 shipped. Never used, still in bubblewrap.

so (3) 2" lines...

what size inside box?

1.5 or 2" should be fine. Do 1" ID bulkheads.

Overflow box, well, whatever size you want really. I'd do one just deep enough that the elbows facing downward prevented any snails from crawling up in the siphon or durso style.

i use a dart as a return pump and it runs wide open. i use 2-1in drains. one is solid siphon, and the other is regular durso.

1.5in should be plenty. one at solid siphon and the other two as backups. or one as a secondary drain with third as emergency.

you want a large enough internal box so you dont hear water cascading over the overflow

can you shoot a picture or 2 of your overflow and the fittings? also how big is your box and is it making any noise flowing with the dart.... i can use yours as a guideline
