Apex+airport extreme

I cant seem to get my apex to work through the internet. It appears everything is set up correctly and then I get a double NAT error. My Motorola modem is not a router....so that isn't causing it. Could a Vonage router cause the NAT error? below are my settings.

The gateway address in the Apex is incorrect. It should be 10.0.1.1. Change that, reboot the Apex, and try again.

The Vonage is probably a router. What is the Internet address of the Extreme? I'm guessing that it is a 192.168.15.x address.

If changing the Apex gateway doesn't help, take the Vonage device out of the picture for a few minutes, connecting the Airport directly to the cable modem. See if external access works.

Although Vonage says their device must be in front of your router, they usually work ok when connected behind the router. You might need to do that.

I changed the gateway to 10.0.1.1 (or should it be 10.0.1.10?) and still no luck. I didn't have a chance to rearrange the Vonage router or check the airport IP. I will do that when I get home. Hopefully this will help. no luck yet. I am also using a web hop to get to the 1001 port on dyndns is that necessary?

The gateway needs to be the LAN address of the router - 10.0.1.1

I dislike webhop for several reasons. Disable it for the time being and just use http://your-hostname:1001 for now.

thanks for the response.

I disconnected the Vonage router and no change I have added my current setting below. I did go back to port 80...after more research Comcast does not block it. I hope this will help.

Ok. so it is working. it was a combination of the wrong gateway IP and the Vonage router.

Russ, thanks for the help...

Next issue email isn't working. Any ideas?

I had the same issues when I switched over from my DLink router to the airport extreme. One thing I will point out is that if the apex ever loses power it will sometimes revert to its old IP and gateway that a PC would use (198.162...) And if your wireless you'll have to re-hook it up to an ethernet cord then disconnect the aquabus cable from the EB8 to allow it to power off and power back on with the ethernet cable providing the correct Ip and gateway.
