Apex; Any setup diff if i have static IPs?

Hi, i have comcast bus internet service that comes with 5 static IPs. Is there anything i should do differently regarding network connection than the usual when i set up the Apex?

Are these the external or WAN side of the router IP addresses? If so, then it will make your connecting the Apex to the outside world easier because you won't have to use a DNS name service (i.e. DynDNS). I don't think it changes what you do on the internal or LAN side of your router and DHCP.

Nothing different. Since it is a business style connection, port 80 is probably open.

Are you hosting a webpage with your internet connection?

I use it for home automation stuff that i don't understand, not hosting a web page as of yet. The home automation system was here when i moved in. I'm a little unsure which of the 5 static IP's the home automation thing uses or which my router uses, or does it use one at all? So i guess my question is can i use any of my 5 IP addresses to reach my router?

the static IP is probably so you can reach your home automation system from the web, remotely. They're going to be on the WAN or the external side of your router, not the internal or LAN side.

Yes, the 'Crestron' programmers access my home automation remotely to fix/change things. My router is Linksys SRX. I did a what'smyip and it's the first of my 5 static IPs. This is good i suppose, as i won't have to check that the isp hasn't changed my ip address. I may not have to change my port forwarding as i'm using the same router i used when i had a ACIII hooked up, and i had no problem accessing it from the internet. I'll be hooking up my Apex this Friday. I've got 2 powerbars, an I/O strip, and a PM1. Looks pretty slick, and the probes look much more substantial than did the ACIII's.
