April NARC meeting

Hi y'all,

Our April meeting will be at WEEC on Saturday 22nd.

Shall we start at 1:00 pm?

I don't have any particular theme for the meeting at the moment. However, WEEC is always willing to trade frags with us (they have a huge amount of xenia, green star polyps, chaetomorpha, micro brittlestars, pods, etc.), I am leaning toward doing a frag swap.

As usual, I need your input on what you want to do, discuss or demonstrate.

I also need your input for May and June meetings. Do you guys want to visit shops in Birmingham? You might want to have a meeting at your own house or a friend's. I don't know if Kwajrock is ready to have us drool over her new tanks. Both Harry and 8Ball have impressive tanks. I need a volunteer to host our meeting or I need you to volunteer someone's place or a shop.

I would be able to attend if the meeting was in Birmingham. But if everyone came to my house, they would most likely be bored with my 9 gallon tank and advanced oscilating fan cooling system. I have however introduced my fourth animal into my tank today. Name the place and time and I hope to come. paulb.

Not a dumb question if you don't know what it is.
WEEC is Wetland's Edge Environmental Center located in Decatur, Alabama. You can check out the site for more info, maps, etc. The have a large (thousands of gallons) saltwater system (several connected tanks and a shallow "pool"). Only a couple of the tanks and the pool contain corals, but it's fascinating to see. There's also a large freshwater section complete with alligators, turtles, and freswater fish. NARC gets to hold meetings in the facility occasionally. We've supplied their tanks with a number of frags, and they've been very generous in supplying our members with anything they have growing in abundance. It's also an excellent place for demonstrations, etc. because the saltwater room is equipped with lab tables. It's one of my favorite places to visit.

Haha how funny I was just thinking about WEEC today.. I was looking at my huge peice of incrusting xenia that grew from a small chunk I got there last time! Look forward to it.. I'll put a reminder in my phone this time since I forgot about the last meeting.

I would say I could volunteer for the next meeting But I guess I'm fixen to tear a hole in the wall and move all the tanks lol.. Not sure when I"m going to get started on it. I kinda of dred it, But I guess I'm for sure going to do it.. Since my lil water leak I really want to get the carpet up and out of the house! I know the padding has to have mold in it :eek2: Atleast when its done I'll have a nice quiet and cool fish room.. and a loud hot equipment room

Yes definitely come!! Bring some of your EvilMilli!! I got some last year at the Chattanooga swap, and I am glad to say it has grown to quite a nice colony in a year's time.

I should get you to give me a piece then! hah hah. Mine's suffered because of this yellow clown goby that never leaves it. It is about 1/5th the size and looks like crap!

I'll plan to bring a few frags if anyone is interested in trading -- post here if you are.
I have some orange montipora capricornus, orange montipora digitata, and a green "slimer" acro that I could bring if there's interest.

I can bring some fresh cut finger leather frags, if anyone is insterested. It's possible to cut a short branch off of the blue tip acro (there is a picture of the mother colony in the first page of my gallary.) I believe that the finger leather picture is in the 4th page.
