so. I just upgraded my light twice for my first nano. First, I started off with a 50/50 coralife bulb and stood it next to the window. It was doing great, lots of light. Blah blah, had no problems.
Got a biocube 14 and a crappy clip on LED with 5 3 watt leds. did ALRIGHT.. nothing amazing, but i dont think it was great.
Third upgrade, Par38 bulb. everyone is loving it. The spread is crap, but corals are opening up fast and wide like they are in the sun again.
However, after about a week of having the bulb, I was looking in the tank and I noticed something in the back. . . .Tentacles. This isn't no japanese pornos either. This was Aptasia! I was sure of it. Its the ugly redish brown. I saw a million of them in a low class biocube at a "Lfs".. and I read a million articles on them.
QUESTION IS: The live rock I got was only about 7 lbs between 3 rocks. Months.. MONTHS ago. Back in november, I think. The rest of it was bleached rock turned live.
Can aptasia really hide that long in the rocks? Also, heard a method to kill them is to burn them.. Can I really take a lighter to them?
