AQ III Configured with Verizon Westell 327W

Does anyone have experience configuring the Verizon Westell 327W DSL for the Aquacontroller III. I can get the local connection going through the Browser including logging on it, but not the Internet connection. The Aquacontroller III yellow light is on, and the green light blinks. I can also ping it.

If anyone has the parameter for the Westell, I would appreciate them.

At this stage, I am trying to get the wired connection operational.

Verizon might be one of those that does not route port 80 well.

Try to change the HTTP port on the controller and then open that port on the router and see if it works.

Still can not get Aquacontroller to work externally on the Internet or Aquanotes lite. I can access it via the local address and down load the log. But otherwise, it does not work. I can see the router IP address, and CanYouSeeMe.org shows that the port is open. HELP.

Is there anyone out there who uses the Aquacontroller 3 with Verizon or the Westell 327W with VersaLink.

Again, did you change the port on the aquacontroller? Also, just because the port is open does not mean is routed correctly. Did you actually go into the router and route the open port to the Aquacontroller's IP address?

Just going over basic stuff to help troubleshoot.

I have it setup using the verizon westell 327W.

On the westell, I set port 8080 external to forward to port 80 internal on my AQ3's IP address.

I use no-ip service, and when I want to get to my AC3 from externally, I go to it like this:

http://myac3.com:8080

I know it may sound like it may not make a difference but try forwarding port 8080 to port 89 (other than 80) on your AC IP address and then go to the AC and change the HTTP port to that same port.

I was having a similar problem and when I did that with my router(different from yours), it worked. For some reason my router did not like forwarding port 80.

Give it a try and see if that works.

Would it be possible for you to send me your configuration for the AC3 and Westell via a PM message to me minus any personal data.

on the Westell, did you define a custom service for port forwarding? When you did that did you use 8080 - 8080 for the global port range. Then did you use 80 for the base host port? I assume you selected TCP for the protocol. Did you do anything else on the Westell like define a static NAT?

Thanks in advance. I really appreciate your support and would love to leverage your experience.

Again if you could send me your parameter for DNS and all those other items that would be beneficial.

When you configured the aquacontroller did you use the internal IP addresses or the ISP addresses for the Gateway and DNS servers?

Gateway 192.168.001.001
DNS Server 192.168.001.001
Alt DNS Server 192.168.001.001
Http Port 80
SMTP server outgoing.verizon.net

AC3:

IP: 192.168.1.75
Subnet: 255.255.255.0
Gateway: 192.168.1.1
DNS Server: 192.168.1.1
Alt DNS Server: 192.168.1.1
http port: 80

Westell:

Internal IP: 192.168.1.1
Port forward from external: 8080-8080 TCP and UDP
Port forward to internal: 192.168.1.75 port 80 TCP and UDP

Thanks Reef55.

I finally got it working for hardwire except for the e-mail. I suspect that is an issue separate from the Westell. My next step will be the wireless. Do you have the wireless working on yours. I am going to use a Buffalo wireless as the access point.

Thanks again to everyone for your help.

Do you have the e-mail alarm working. I am having issues with authentication using the test message. I can get it to work in aquanoteslite, but not directly in the AC3. Did you use the SMTP server "outgoing.verizon.net", your verizon account name, and your verizon account password.

Thanks.

you need to authenticate to verizon outbound. Go grab the beta release Curt posted up for authentication capability :)

Does anyone use wireless with the Westell 327W A series and another wireless device connected to the Aquacontroller 3? I have westell on the DSL end, but need another device on the acquacontroller end. I need a device that is compatible with this westell, but I cann't seem to find one. Buffalo claims their wireless access is not compatible. Again, someone with direct experience would be much appreciated.
