That's more than enough IMO. You could even get by with the 30 or the 20.

Im actually getting two aquaclear for 17 and 20g tanks, the 20g is for quarantine.

For the small price difference I'd do the aquaclear 70... I will be putting a 70 on a 11g cube... Ive been seeing a lot of the 70s on really small tanks here on Rc plus it is easily modded to a refugium...

As far as box ratings yea it's enough but just like protein skimmers why not go as big as you can price and space wise.. Just my thoughts

Yes, the flow is adjustable. Also, if you pick up an AC70 and are getting too much flow you can swap out the impeller for one from a smaller model. I have an AC50 impeller running in my AC70 fuge.

Same here I have a AC70 with AC 20 impeller on my 10 gallon.

So I can get the ac70 for bigger compartment and just reduce the flow if needed, very good option.
