Aquarium light glare

Hi,

I have a 30" Coralife light fizture installed above my 29 gallon reef. It is suspended above an open tank. The glare from the light is substantial and somewhat blinding when sitting on the sofa. Does anyone have any advice on how to block the light at the front of the tank (that isn't ugly)?

How about lowering the light?

Or tilting it slightly toward the rear of the tank?

Some sort of canopy might work , or a drape of some sort

Agreed. Simply putting taping something like a laminated black paper "skirt" onto the bottom of the fixture should help a lot.
