Heat Sink

Heat Sink

mike888075:
how thick is the heat sink on the green element. I got the same light from ebay and had to add a pc fan because the light would gets kinda hot.

The heat sink is not thick at all I didnt measure it so not sure of exact thickness. In the first picture I posted when taking the light apart you can see how thin it.

How do you like cherryaqua inano? I'm thinking g about getting one for my own evolve 8.
And I'll have to order it from barrier reef aquariums, they're the only I've found that have itit.

Ok, sorry about the short response regarding my light. I like everything about this light. The only problem was with the aquarium. The back wall of my evolve 4 is really thin causing the light to sag. I ended up reinforcing the mounting location with two strips of .125" abs sheet that I had laying around. The fix worked great. There are 30 intensity levels for each light color. I have mine set to full power blue and mid white. I simply adjusted the white until I liked the colors. It has a brilliant shimmer effect. Unfortunately the color doesn't come through in the pics.

Thanks for the longer reply :) from what you've said I think I'm going to go with this light, I've been leaning towards buying it and from what little information I've found on it it IS the best bang for your buck. Hopefully the back wall of the evolve 8 won't need reinforcing, but if it does it does. Thanks

*Update* dual 4 gallon evolves

*Update* dual 4 gallon evolves

I decided I wanted more dilution and two display tanks. Petsmart had the evolve 4's on sale for $44. I picked one up and hooked it to my existing display tank in series. I have a piece of stunner chalice in the new tank that is in rehab. It was brown when i got it, and is now starting to turn purple. This is an easy mod that could be used for a fuge on alot of existing sytems.

New layout

New layout

I changed the layout to better accomodate the different corals. I also removed the lr rubble from the overflow and added carbon filter pad. My water is much clearer and I got rid of the nuisance algae. Coralline is finally starting to spread.
