Are maxijet wave makers any good?

Are they worth the money? DO they do a decent job? Looking to add more flow and wave action to my 40. If they are not any good does anyone have a better option that is affordable?

I think you would be much more happy with a tunze nano or maybe a Korilla....wave makers are kinda tricky. You need to have one that operated at low voltage in order to slow the pump down instead of cutting it off. This will help prevent premature wear.

Besides the amount of flow out of un-modded maxijets is nothing compared to propeller powerheads! I think a Tunze 6025 is much more attractive, easier to mount and starting at 600gph-around 1000+ gph when modded is much easier/effeicent way of getting flow in a 40 gallon tank!

Just my opinion!

Well I currently have two koralia 2's in the tank, but it's still lacking flow.

I didn't know it had to be low voltage. I looked at the new controlible koralias but they're pretty high in price. I might just end up adding a thrid power head was thinking koralia, but might try a tunze. Just thought alittle wave action might help.
