Are the Coralife Super Skimmers any good?

My CSS220 kicks butt!
Just go slow on breakin period as they can overflow.
I wouldn't try to skim for at least 2 days.
125 and 220 have a drain plug, wich I highly reccommend running tubing to a 1 gal. jug.
They're great out of the box, but there are some great mods for fine tuning on light/filt forum

I totally forgot that when I moved I dropped my Corallife Skimmer. I now run an Aquatech 100 that I'm also very happy with.

I Just bought my CSS 220 on Friday... And it's AMAZING

I've never had a skimmer cause i thought that my water was clean...

I'm never going to have a system with out a skimmer now!!!!

Go for the 220, so that when you upgrade you'll have the skimmer already

I bought my CSS from Drs. Foster & Smith. I actually paid for a 125, but they shipped me a 220. So, what did I do? I made it fit in my sump of course! Definitely an awesome skimmer!

Salty Brother :

No mods. just opened the box, put it together (minimal assembly)

and BAM! I have never used a skimmer like i said and so i had no idea what i was doing, and after the first day or two it was producing a nice... well it's a Really Nasty froth at the top!

Early last week I asked nearly the same question in the lighting and filtration forum, here is a link to the thread so you can see the response I got

Ohh and for the record, mine is mounted on the side of my 30 gal refugium which is sitting on a 5' tall stand in my room because it is above my 29 gal reef tank. So yea , my skimmer is out in the open and and it looks mighty sweet :)

This is embarassing, but I f'd up again. It's an Aquarium Systems skimmer I have and it does the job properlike.

sorry, i dont follow you Sloshes...

This is the 3rd different brand of skimmer I've claimed to have on this thread. This time I looked before I opened my big mouth. FTR, I had a Corallife skimmer that WAS great and I have an Aquarium Systems skimmer that IS great.

Inconsistant peformance...over all OK.

The knob sucks for adjustment. Doesnt collect foam consistantly.

Price is right.
