Ark Clams

I found a live Ark clam / Anadara transversa today when I went to fill some containers for salt water.

Anadara transversa, or the transverse ark clam, is a clam in the family Arcidae.

Is it a problem if I put it in my reef tank?

I also found a live mussel. would that be reef safe?

Ark Clams

Since you are in NY I would expect that most organisms would only tolerate a cold reef, and wouldn't last long at tropical temps

Also, most cold water filter feeders can't extract enough food out of a small tank system.

There is someone on RC who maintains a low-light, chilled water cold water reef with long stuff from the waters around you. I can't seem to find the thread...
