ASM G-6 Help Please

I have an ASM G-6 skimmer with the gate valve mod that I can not seem to get operating correctly. I can only run 2 out of 3 of the sedra pumps or else water flows violently out of the top of the collection cup and gate valve.

Before setting it up I cleaned it out a few times with white vinegar. Then it ran for 24 hours with the two sedra 9000 pumps.

It is in a 100 gallon rubbermaid stock tank and the water goes about 8 inches above the holes at the bottom for the pump imput.

What am I doing wrong? Is this normal behavior?

shot in the dark it might not be the skimmer but the pump that is pumping the water in from the sump it might be to high turn down your feed pump then adjust from there do close the gate valves open them all up an put a ball vavle on ure feed pump turn it down an watch what happens this is how i do it then i fine tune with the gate valve on the skimmer but try turning down ure feed pump first i bet it works :-)

Make sure all of the venturis are clear and pulling air, a blockage will cause high flow of water.
Alternately, your water might be a bit deep and you should try dropping the level /. raising the skimmer.
BTW there is no flow adjustment on these pumps.

PS I assume the gate valve is large enough to handle the flow?

PPS You don't have the recirc mod, and therefore there is no additional feedpump, right ??

I've got a G3 with the same prob. and the durso stand pipe is down all the way. I battle with more flow to the tank vs. water everywhere with the skimmer. (I have the overflow plumbed into the skimmer)
I think Highlander is correct the water level is too high. I'm going to try raising the skimmer. Hmmm, another DIY project.

Correct, I do not have the recirc mod. I tried raising the skimmer and I was able to turn on the third pump. It seems to be at least operational at this point but I do no know how efficient it will be....

I believe the venturis are pulling air ok? I have the tubing going stright up into the air, unblocked. However one of the pumps does seem to be emitting small amounts of micro bubbles from the venturi?
