I bought an ASM G3 Skimmer (used), and have had trouble getting it to skim anything. I tried for two weeks. I did some research, and now believe that I bought an ASM G3 with a Sedra 3500 pump. Which explains why I cant get any skimmate.
I have a couple of questions:
Should I get a Sedra 5000 or Sedra 9000?
Are the parts (needle wheel and connector) interoperable? The reason I ask is that I found a 5000 on ebay that is from a euroreef for $50. Can I buy this and swap the connectors, etc or just use as is on my ASM?
Any other source for less expensive sedra pumps?
