I added an ATS to the system and the drain is so loud all the time, constantly gargling and surging. It is fed by a sicce 1.5 (357 gph) and has a 3/4 drain with a 1/2 emergency. What can I do in the space confines I have?

I would try runing on a lower gph. I run mine on a Neptune PMUP at 100gph. It works quite well, I harvest a bright green matt about every 10-14 days.
Also, I find it to be very quiet right after cleaning, but as algae starts accumulating on areas other than the screen, water seems to find ways to splash and make noise. Also happens as the algae on the screen gets thick. Negligent at first, it gets a little louder with time and serves as a reminder to clean the thing.
