Attaching Maxi jets to Mag Floats

Does anyone know what glue is best to attach Maxi Jets to Mag Floats? Will hot glue work, and is it safe for the tank?

I used DAP aquarium silicone

SLB, its cuz the suction cup on those things suck! They wear out and won't hold.

And no one has seen bad effects from this?

I thought powerheads had DC motors in them. I know that putting a magnet right next to a DC motor is bad business in the long run-- anyone have this problem?

No problem. The "mag" is not that close to the pump. The "float" part is.

Ah. There's just a piece of iron or other metal in the float part, then?

You should have seen my sand storm yesterday. Moved all of the sand from one corner of the tank to the other. So much for not stiring the sand bed.

I just super glue. Get the gel type. You can buy it online practically everywhere. You can see the Seio's and maxjets I have glued on magfloats in my tank here.

I prefer glue bacause the silicone will eventually break down.

I sure hope silicone doesn't break down. That is what holds a glass aquarium together! The silicone is flexible and shock absorbing and is a good choice for this app.

im kinda confused about how the magnets in each don't affect each other.... doesnt the mag float screw up the maxijet.

Maxi jets on mag floats are awesome. Suction cups are absolutely horrible. I used epoxy and superglue gel to attach mine.
