Now that I have your attention... does anyone here have any experience mariculturing Red Gracilaria? Water temp and flow, lighting, air, nutrients blah blah blah.

I couldn't keep it alive for anything. It just turned clear and melted away. I tried planting it, letting it float, high flow area, low flow area, etc....

Although I did have other macros in my tank whcih may have out competed it for nutrients.

OK, my tank is reef like env. but with many fish ... and high nutrients. perhaps the Gracilaria is doing well in my system beacause of tuhe diversity. it's beenm about 2 weeks now and i see no signs of burn off or depletion. Matbe its because i keep it in my refugium with 24 hour lamps and slow warm water movement

This and Ulva do pretty well in high nutrient tanks.

Ulva's often pretty tasty stuff to a tang Along with high nutrient imputs I also find Iron seems to help with both gracilaria and Ulva.
