auto top-off questions

Hi

I have a quick Tunze question... i need to do an auto top-off for an upcoming trip.

I want to do the tunze, but i dont know which one to get.

Tunze Osmomat 5420

Tunze Osmolator Universal 3155

Does the 3155 need an additional pump? what is the difference between the two?

Osmomat is for in tank, Osmolator is for in sump. They both are complete with pump, the Osmomat incorporates a housing to keep snails and algae of the sensors and magnify surface change to make it more precise.

How much different is the mounting of the Osmomat in a sump??
I guess it's overkill since the sump doesn't need the housing, is that it? I guess the footprint required for mounting is larger compared to the Osmolator 3155??

With lights running in my sump is the Osmomat better to keep algae off the sensors??

The Osmomat really is not a good choice for a sump. I would just keep up with cleaning the sensors and so long as their aren't snails that will crawl on the sensors the little bit of alagae is likely to cause no major problems. It will just stop working and you have to clean it.
