Automatic spill power cuttoff??

I ask this in this forum as scientists (such as myself) may be aware of these instruments, if no one knows, I'll ask in a more appropiate forum.

I2R makes this gizmo that will cutoff power if a spill is detected:

http://www.i-2-r.com/water_flow_monitors_protection/l_water_flow_protection/p_onepage/sp1.htm

It costs about $500.00

Does anyone know if a cheaper version is available. Just the alarm is not good enough, as I want the power cut if a spill is detected.

Thanks.

I'm not familiar with especially cheap versions (anyone else know of any?), but I would not think them difficult to design, so I wouldn't rule them out.

I use a float swtich in my sump that will shut down the main pumps if the level drops, which normally is suggestive of a spill of some sort.

Hi Randy. wow, quick reply, must be lunch time!

I am thinking of this because I am getting a HOT CPR refugium and there is a chance for spillage if the outlet clogs. But, I'd need to drill into it or somehow fasten the float switch to it. this type of unit, also lets me know if there is any spillage (audible alarm)
