Ok so my dad works for JPL and he told me about a project he was working on that would map the salinity our worlds ocean. He spent nearly a month in brazil working on this project as well as a countless hours of overtime out here in california. Here is the link of the project... http://www.nasa.gov/mission_pages/aquarius/news/aquarius20110922.html

He also worked on all of the recent Mars rovers and countless other satellite and deep space projects. Hope that you guys think this is as interesting as I do.

Whoa! Thats an awesome project. I was thinking about how cool something like that would be about 2 years ago, and decided I couldnt think of a way to do it... Guess thats why I dont work for NASA :)

I have been studying it, and looking up where all my fish and inverts are (likely) from, and im going to try to find an average salinity to set the tank at. So far, it looks like I should lower it a little since they are mostly from the islands.

Very cool! I do a lot of business with JPL and our data storage hardware was used on most if not all of those projects you mentioned. It's a shame they had the budgets slashed over the last few years. They have really had to scale things back.

That is pretty cool. You could have stopped at "My dad works at JPL" and that would have been cool enough. Very interesting chart also.
