az no3 should I?

A refugium is just not an option right now. my sand bed is not that deep... i cant seem to get a handle on my nitrates

i started using r/o water after 5 months of tap water
Im not putting any food in the tank except 1/4 a silverslide every 3 days
(no fish in it)
I added a skimmer
i added kents nitrtate spounge.
I do an 11% water change once a week.

Still they are ever present around fourty. maybe even be on the riase.

Pretty sure it all started after doing my first gravel cleaning (after 5 months of diatris)

lfs said somthing about an anerobic pocket in my gravel? dont understand.

Im ready to order az no3, but I wanted to see if anyone had an opinion or used it before? looks promiseing.....

I just finished a dosing cycle and it seemed to work just fine for me.
I went from 40 to 0 in about 2 weeks or so.
I say go for it.

How high is the nitrate?

AZ-NO3 may be an OK way to go. It might not be better than vodka or other ways to drive bacteria, but many folks seem to find that it works.

I prefer skimming and growing macroalgae.

ive read a ton of threads about the vodka, i dont agree with it and it seems it really screwed some peoples tanks up..?

my nitrates are about 40-50 at the moment.

got the skimmer, just cant do the refugium/algea right now.

Well, I'm not sure the effec tof AZ-NO3 is going to be any different, but folks have successfully used both.

well, i just ordered it thru P.aquatics, ill update in a week or so.

Im only wondering if they'll spike agian aftter im done using it. oviously, its not fixing the reson why they are in my tank in the first place

Anaerobic means low oxygen. Such conditions take place inside of live rock or down in a sand bed.
