Seahorse tank going up

Our male Seahorse, Shot... had his 2nd brood of fry in less than 3 weeks! This time we managed to get 30-35 babies into the new nursery. They made it overnight!

What do those little fellas eat?

We are culturing live Phytoplankton and live Rotifers right now... next step will be live baby brine.

Do you sell them or keep them? Out of 35, how many do you think you'll end up with?

Well, the first brood, I transpoted 17 babies to someone almost 100 miles away...as we weren't even sure he was carrying the babies. We had no food, no nursery... notta. They will be 3 weeks old on Tuesday and all are still living.

In the interim.. we set up the nursery and began culturing our own live food for the next batch. Just didn't think it would be this soon.

From what I understand... it may take them up to 5 months before you can teach them to eat frozen foods. So, we're just beginning this journey.

Your guess is as good as mine as far as survival. All we can do is... to take it one day at a time.

:)

don't worry- I don't want to mix my kuda with your reidi... I'm just making a good ole observation

LOL... Its all good!! They had a transfer of eggs today. Looks like we will have a third batch in a couple of weeks.

Cool thing is... I got it on camera!! :) W00H00!

I was just curious. I'm fascinated but too much of a newbie to even think about adding one of them to my tank...lol

Well, you can't add them to your tank! You have to have a dedicated seahorse tank. :)

Check your pm... wanna show ya something.
