baby Scribbled Angelfish

I have a 1"-1.5" scribbled angelfish in qt tank. How often should it be fed for optimal growth?

probably depends more on what type of filtration you have in your QT ..

i will do a small water change every 2-3 days aswell as a little filter on the back(forget the name).

you have a scribbled that small???? Where did you get him from???????? Usually impossible to get any angel from Aussie that small. Have pics?? An angel that small needs to be fed every hour for them to thrive. There metabolism is very high. I would have them in QT with with well est. LR and some algae sheets available at all time. Tim Pics?

I agree. Feed him as often as possible. Smaller angels diet usually consists of strictly algaes, so I would always offer algae sheets. Is he eating? Pellets? Post pics too, I was considering a scribbled but can't risk it eating my corals.

I originally had 2 of them. The one that I added to the display (wasn't thinking at the time) got stuck to my 6101 and survived for only a week after that. They were originally barely 1" and the one I have now has grown considerably and is starting to get a nice brilliant blue. I will take some pictures tomorrow for those who are interested. He eats everything except the Nori sheets (trying to get him to eat them). So I've been feeding a lot of NLS pellets and Formula 1 flakes. The one that I have now was living in my fuge for a while before i put him into qt to grow him out. The qt is pretty bare right now, it consists of some base rock I just cured, a heater, and a mini filter.
Tim, you are right about getting small angels from the aussies. I just happened to come across an importer in Montreal that received a few.

5+ times a day to keep it healthy. i haven't had any 1" scribbles. I have had some 2" ones though, not to hard to come by if you know a collector.

Yeah, i was thinking that too. He definitely doesn't have a sunken belly. Worst part about this is that my DT just broke out with ich and i think he caught some too. Im bringing the salinity down in the qt as we speak.

I am worried about the little gy because when I woke up this morning, ich is covering his whole body. He now refuses to eat aswell. My goal is to get the salinity to 1.015 today and tomorrow have it at 1.009. Going to try with soaking the food in fresh garlic when I feed. Hopefully that works.

FWIW, I have not had much luck with angels taking interest with garlic enhanced foods.

Now my angel is going to the corners of the qt and lying there. I have a feeling it will not make it till tomorrow. I have the salinity at 1.018 and leaving it there until tomorrow.

You should give the fish a formulin bath, I have seen that work wonders.
