baby Scribbled Angelfish

Do a FW dip. It may not be ich, but velvet. Velvet seems to attack faster. If you do a FW dip and you see "dust" in the bottom of the container then it is velvet and hypo won't do a thing for it. You will need to treat with copper. I only use Cupramine on my fish, including angels with no issues.

This is cool, almost wanted to get a 'pair' of 2 inch scribbled before... But dropped the idea as I am afraid they will grow very fast...

The thing is that he is so small i do not want to stress him out with freshwater dips unless its necessary. He is no longer lying in the corners of the tank but sitting in the rockwork and slowly swimming around.

the best way to treat any disease is to CATCH ON TIME the sooner you act the more chance the fish will have if i were you i would dose copper safe and donot do a fw bath on this fish as he sounds weak and to small but definately try copper safe it really dose wrk wonders for me... also i would not toch the salinity anymore leave as is as this may be stressing him more good luck

Your stuck between a rock and a hard place.
The fish needs a fresh water dip (temp/pH adjusted) and a formulin bath. You need to get as many parasites as possible off the fish gills. Lowering the salinity will not stress the fish as long as you keep the pH about 8.2. If your not sure which parasite (ick vs Oddinium) use copper.

Ok so some good news. The little guy is now swimming through the rocks in his qt and eating like a pig again. I am pretty positive it is ich and will continue hypo for 4-6 weeks.

Here is a new video:

i just received a 1.5" baby scribble from AU. they are so neat at this size. The smallest i have ever had one at. Eats everything too. How is yours still doing???

well i have had mine for about a week now but i bought a 4" one that was closer to 5" that had been in qt for atleast 8 weeks then for sale an additional 3 weeks before i bought it from phishy business and she eats anything and everything like a pig

I wonder if the little guy made it? We haven't heard much about it. A fish that small would make me nervous (for an angel, I mean..)

Matthew

This angel unfortunately passed away. I never bothered trying to get my hands on another one.

So sorry to hear that. That is what would have scared me away from that purchase.
So, you never going to try for a larger Scribbled?

Sincerely,
Matthew
